If you’re traveling with ClearCorrect this season, there are some tips and tricks you should know to help you stay on track with your treatment plan. Continue reading to learn more!

Pack the Essentials

While packing your travel bag, don’t forget to prepare a kit that’s filled with your oral care essentials and necessities. Let’s take a look at some travel items you should include to help you maintain good oral health.

  • Toothbrush – Ideally, you should pack multiple toothbrushes in convenient places (i.e., suitcase, carry-on, handbag) so you’re always able to clean your teeth before putting your aligners back in your mouth.
  • Dental Floss – Flossing thoroughly between your teeth once a day is necessary to keep your mouth problem-free.
  • Mouthwash – Rinsing with antiseptic mouthwash is an excellent way to wash away any lingering harmful substances.
  • Extra Aligners – If you’re planning on being away from home for a few weeks, you’ll likely need to change your aligners while you’re away. Make sure you keep the extra set of trays in a safe place!

Keep Up with Your Routine

Vacation may seem like the perfect time to put your responsibilities on the back burner, but that shouldn’t apply to your oral health. Even when you’re away from home, you must continue to brush your teeth twice a day and floss daily to keep your smile in optimal condition. One of the perks of ClearCorrect is that there are no dietary restrictions while undergoing treatment. However, you have to remove the aligners before eating or drinking anything that’s not water to avoid damaging them. Don’t forget to wear them for at least 22 hours a day as well!

Take An Extra Set of Aligners

It’s a good idea to take an extra set of aligners with you just in case. It’ll make it easier to stay on track with your treatment plan while traveling. If you lose an aligner, don’t panic – contact your dentist and they’ll instruct you on what to do in the meantime.

Make Sure the Tap Water Is Safe

Some travel destinations have a water supply that is considered unsafe to consume. If that’s the case, it’s also not recommended to brush or rinse with it as well. Before you depart, make sure you check the safety of the tap water at your destination. When in doubt, only use bottled water to avoid getting sick from the local water supply.

Are you ready for your holiday trip? By following the tips outlined above, you can travel with ease while undergoing ClearCorrect treatment!
